Annual pest-free moth plant pod competition
Pest Free Howick and Pest Free South Auckland are running their annual moth plant pod competitions for school children and communities.
Drop in to our visitor centre to learn more about the threat of moth plant and the competition.
Moth plant is an invasive and extremely destructive plant that originates from South America. As a fast growing vine it smothers our native fauna and restricts regeneration.
The moth plant competition is a way to connect communities with their local ngahere and educate people on the damage of this species. Come along to hear how you can get involved in this incredible mahi.
There are prizes up for grabs and of course it is an opportunity to learn more about the species in your backyard and what actions you can take to protect Aotearoa's special plant species.
