Drop and Learn: Myrtle Rust Survey
Join our botanist Ella Rawcliffe for a walk and talk on our Myrtle Rust Survey.
Myrtle rust (Puccinia psidii s.l.) is a fungus that affects plants in the family Myrtaceae. It is a plant disease from South America and arrived in New Zealand from Australia in 2017.
Our team at Auckland Botanic Gardens have been keeping an eye on the disease which affects much-loved native species like Pohutukawa and threatened ones like Rata Moehau.
