Harakeke collection guided walk
To celebrate Matariki, join our curator for a guided walk through the harakeke collection. Discover the rich diversity of varieties and their cultural significance, including their use in creating everyday taonga such as kākahu (garments), kete (kits), taura (rope), whāriki (matting), and rourou (food baskets).
Learn about the design and purpose of Te Puna Raranga, our dedicated weaving shelter, and how it supports our weaving community through teaching, workshops, and education.
This is a free guided walk. Meet at the Visitor Centre to begin.
