Opera in the Gardens
As part of the Music in Parks programme, NZ Opera creates a ‘Best of Opera’ concert amidst the flowers and foliage of the Auckland Botanic Gardens.
This opera event will be held on the main lawn in front of the Huakaiwka Visitor Centre 6pm - 8pm.
Singers include Joanna Foote, Sarah Mileham, Taylor Wallbank, Joel Amosa, Alfred Fonoti-Fuimaono, with pianist David Kelly and MC Kawiti Waetford.
Make a day of it!
Arrive earlier so you can and take a walk around the Sculpture in the Gardens exhibition. The sculpture trail ends on the Main Lawn where the operatic concert will take place (allow 1.5hrs).
Tips for making it a great day:
Parking - Parking will be at a premium so to guarantee a park, drive to our Everglade Drive entry where security will assist with parking.
Weather - Summer is proving to be full of sunshine so don't forget to 'slip, slap, slop' to avoid being burnt. Bring plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated. Should the weather turn out to be adverse the Music in Parks team will post updates about the event and look out for information on our Botanic Gardens social media page.
