Tātai Whakapapa – Matariki
Join a one-day symposium on whakapapa and genealogy that includes toi / arts-practitioner participation. This special event is dedicated to sharing resources for whakapapa research as well as information about genealogy and Matariki for community researchers, artists, whānau and genealogists.
The presenters are experts in their disciplines concerning history of the cosmos, whakapapa-influenced artworks and taonga, Matariki-specific kōrero, and personal experience working with and within whakapapa. You're invited to attend a whakapapa research session with Raniera Kingi, and hear from keynote speakers including Matariki expert Brendan Moses, Kararaina Te Ira, James Webster, and more.
On the South Lawn outside the Huakaiwaka visitor centre.
