Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast this weekend as Cyclone Vaianu approaches Auckland. For your safety, we strongly advise against visiting the Gardens during severe weather.

This weather event may cause:

• Treefall
• Flash flooding, particularly around streams such as the Puhinui
